The IRS, NYS, NYC and many other states have mandated that beginning
with the 2010 Tax Filing Season, all tax returns, personal, trust and business
be E-Filed and no paper filing will be permitted if you use a professional tax
preparer.

In prior years, as you will recall, we provided you with 'OPT OUT' paperwork
so that your tax returns did not have to be E-Filed. For the 2010 Tax Filing
Season, the OPT OUT no longer exists.

How will filing be changed?

1) I will require your date of birth, your wife's date of birth and the dates of
birth of all dependents you are claiming (children and other individuals).
Failure to provide this information correctly will result in rejection of your
tax return by the IRS.

2) You will no longer receive tax returns to file. You will receive a copy of
your tax returns, payment vouchers as explained below and you will also
receive E-FILING AUTHORIZATIONS. These E-FILE
AUTHORIZATIONS, must be immediately signed and returned to me. I
cannot e-file your return until the forms are received by me. After
reviewing your tax returns you must return these forms as soon as
possible, E-Filing takes time and I cannot E-File my entire tax season on
April 15. IMPORTANT, e-filing does not require immediate payment as
I explain in the next section but it does allow for very quick refunds.
Payment needs only to be made by the due date of the tax return.

3) If you want to either pay your taxes electronically or have your refund
deposited electronically in your bank account, I WILL NEED A COPY OF
A VOIDED CHECK FOR THE ACCOUNT YOU WISH TO USE. Please
note, that if there is a balance due, I can designate that the payment be
made on the due date of the return rather than the date that it is submitted
electronically by this office.

4) For those of you that still want to pay their Federal or State tax by check,
we can still supply you with payment vouchers. For any payments due to
NYC, there is no option to pay by check, payment must be made by debit to
your checking account.

5) Payment of estimated tax can still be made by check and we will supply
you with vouchers just as we have done in the past.

6) Certain paperwork, such as lenghty capital transaction schedules will still
be submitted as separate paperwork and will be mailed to you with
instructions with your completed tax returns
